Abstract:The Fifth meeting of the Open-ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (WG2020-5) was held from December 3 to 5 before the second part of CBD COP15. During the three-day meeting, the groups negotiated for parts, goals and targets, and Digital Sequence Information (DSI) of the draft Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). In the end, although the negotiators reached consensus on some draft resolutions, their positions remained polarized on most contents of the draft GBF. Overall, no significant progress was made in this negotiation, and the task of reaching a final consensus was handed over to CBD COP15.
