Abstract: Yue Xiaoguang, an academician of the Pakistan Academy of Engineering, published a paper entitled Investigating the resource curse: Evidence from MENA and N-11 countries in the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Q1 SSCI journal Resources Policy (published by Elsevier, IF 8.222), along with his team. This paper studies the influence of natural resource abundance on economic growth and carbon dioxide emissions, by analyzing Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Next Eleven (N-11) from 2011 to 2020. The results show that natural resource abundance has a positive effect on economic growth and CO2 emissions, and natural resource abundance and carbon dioxide emissions also have a positive impact on economic growth. This study also demonstrates the importance of technology and environmental regulation in this area, and its results also offer important policy references.
