Abstract:
Martin Palmer, the world-renowned sinologist elaborated the connection between culture and nature by using examples from Taoism and Buddhism. Since ancient time, Chinese people respect and worship nature. How the nature was appreciated in the past can be the guidance of today’s environmental governance. Drylands and oasis are like the Yin and Yang of the world, only when they are balanced, can human and nature live in harmony.
