Author: WANG Jing
Following the introduction of Management Measures for Examination and Approval of Construction Projects Using Forestland by the then State Forestry Administration in 2015, the Announcement of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (No.2, 2021) by the same department, and the Opinions on Promoting the Development of Forest Health Wellness Industry that were jointly issued by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Ministry of Civil Affairs, National Health Commission and National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2019, forest resources, health wellness industry and real estate development have been twisted together by market demand and capital for profits, and thus gave birth to many means of obtaining benefits through real estate development projects under the slogan of forest health wellness. This article is based on disputes arising from the development and construction of the project Shangri-La Village Haizishan International Forest Wellness Tourism Resort in Yucheng District of Ya'an City of Sichuan Province.
