By WANG Jing
Abstract:
From the suspected abuse case of Molly, an Asian elephant, which has been a subject of growing concern since 2021, we can see that the public’s attention and awareness of wild animal protection are increasing. While this is the result of the construction of ecological civilization in China, such cases also reflect some existing problems in wildlife protection in the country. Respecting life and correctly understanding the relationship between man and animals are not only important parts of ecological civilization ethics, but also the due meaning of constructing a community of shared future for all lives on earth. With the continuous upgrade of ecological civilization level nationwide, the construction of the legal system also needs to be constantly improved.
