Ecological Recommendations:Suggestions on the Industrial Standard for the Technical Guide to the Compilation of Coastal Zone Planning

Abstract:

Coastal zone is a geographic intersectional unit which connects the marine and land systems. It is not only the most active natural area on earth's surface, but also the most superior area of the resources and environment conditions. It is a basis of ocean development and economic development, the link of foreign trade and cultural communication, while it is the most fragile ecosystem. The National Marine Information Center is soliciting comments on the draft of the industrial standard for the Technical Guide to the Compilation of Coastal Zone Planning. The Expert Group of CBCGDF made several suggestions after carefully studying the draft: Pay attention to ecological restoration instead of ecological remediation only; Take the harmonious development of man and nature as the goal and use nature-based solution; base on the regional ecological environment; biodiversity protection elements need to be included; biodiversity planning index needs to be added.
