Abstract: In today’s rapid urbanisation, biodiversity conservation has become one of the important tasks that cannot be ignored. It requires the joint efforts of the whole society to strengthen the understanding of the totality and complexity of the ecosystem, focus on the green development model, innovate conservation measures and planning models, and promote the sustainable and healthy development of the ecological environment and urban sustainable development. This paper focuses on biodiversity conservation in urban planning. Through the identification of biodiversity and ecological background characteristics of the study area and the conservation planning of different biomes, it explores diverse habitat conservation and planning models, including the study and conservation planning of fish, bird and insect habitats. On this basis, an ecological spatial conservation network will be established and the urban park and green space system planning will be improved.

Key words: Biodiversity conservation, diverse habitat conservation, ecological space conservation network, urban ecological green space system planning
