Abstract: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) illustrated that the global temperature had risen by about 1.1℃ between 2011 and 2020 compared to the period from 1850 to 1900. In response to the significant global impacts of climate change, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) holds an annual Conference of the Parties to assess progress in addressing climate change. This article reviews the significant results in four out of the past 27 conferences, and anticipates the potential topics for the upcoming COP28 this year including assessing global climate action progress, speeding up the energy transition, and financial support and implementation.
